IOTA/IOTA-ES occultation update for (479) Caprera / TYC 0303-00112-1 event on 2020 Mar 28, 08:23 UT Visible from South America, Mexico, SW USA Summary ------- On 2020 Mar 28 UT, the 69.4 km diameter asteroid (479) Caprera will occult a 10.4 mag star in the constellation Virgo for observers along a path across South America, Mexico, SW USA. In the case of an occultation, the combined light of the asteroid and the star will drop by 4.09 mag to 14.46 mag (the magnitude of the asteroid) for at most 4.8 seconds. This update is based on UNSO/Flagstaff astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Hugh Harris, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by Bill Owen, astrometry for the asteroid kindly provided by the IAU Minor Planet Center.
